Privacy Policy

1. Overview

DevOnboard is a desktop-first onboarding tool that helps developers install and manage software using package managers like winget. This policy explains what data may be processed when you use DevOnboard and the DevOnboard website.

2. Information We Process

Depending on the feature you use, DevOnboard may process:

• Basic system diagnostics (for example, OS details and tool availability checks).
• Installation activity logs needed to track success/failure of software installs.
• Google account profile information – when you sign in with Google, the desktop app receives your email, name, and profile picture via Google OAuth. This data is stored locally on your machine and used to identify your subscription.
• Subscription and entitlement data – your plan tier (Free / Pro / Lifetime), install count, and renewal date are stored locally in the app.
• Support communication data when you contact us by email.

DevOnboard does not collect or store credit-card details. All paid plans go through Stripe Checkout, and card information is handled entirely by Stripe.

3. How We Use Data

Data is used only to:

• Operate and improve setup, diagnostics, and installation workflows.
• Authenticate your account via Google sign-in.
• Verify Stripe payments and activate the correct subscription tier.
• Provide support and troubleshoot issues reported by users.
• Maintain security and prevent misuse of the service.

4. Third-Party Services

DevOnboard relies on the following third parties. Each handles your data according to their own privacy policy:

• Google OAuth – used for sign-in. Google receives the authorization request and returns a profile + tokens. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe – processes all payments. Stripe collects card details directly from you; DevOnboard only receives the payment status. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• winget (Microsoft) – package downloads are performed by Windows Package Manager, which contacts Microsoft and package source servers.

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited information with infrastructure or analytics providers only when needed to operate the product, secure systems, or comply with legal obligations.

5. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for product operation, support, security, and legal compliance.
